Role Overview 🚀

The role is a great opportunity for an individual to establish their career working in-house and obtain valuable experience working for a global, high growth software company. You will work closely with the other members of the Legal team, including dedicated time with the Head of Legal and General Counsel.

The role will provide access to a dynamic and varied workload of commercial contracts, corporate, data protection and intellectual property matters under the direct supervision of the Legal Counsel. Recent examples of paralegal work have been setting up a new legal entity and operation in the Philippines, building a legal "front door" making it easier for our customers to engage with us and implementing a new contract repository system (Juro). 

Responsibilities 🤘

• Supporting our Customer Success and Sales Teams with everything legal to continue Benifex’s exceptional growth trajectory.
• Supporting and assisting all members of Benifex’s small-but-mighty Legal Team.
• Demystifying legal jargon and becoming a ‘business partner’ to make sure we’re all moving in the same direction.
• Leveraging your legal acumen to draft and negotiate a variety of contracts (variations, novations, NDAs (etc)) to ensure Benifex continues to crush its targets in the right way.
• Contributing to the global evolution of Benifex and the Legal Team – never stand still.

What are we looking for? 🔎

Experience:

• Legal education, LLB or GDL (LPC / SQE desirable but not essential)
• Prior legal experience (ideally in-house or private practice teams such as corporate, commercial, commercial property or insolvency) would be advantageous
• Any experience in reviewing and improving contract templates, contract systems, practices and processes

Competencies:

• Communication Skills:  Can communicate basic information clearly and concisely. Can follow verbal and written instructions.
• Critical Thinking: Can identify and analyse basic problems. Can follow logical reasoning to reach conclusions. Can question facts and seeks clarity.
• Negotiation: Can effectively negotiate simple agreements to reach acceptable compromises. Can follow established negotiation guidelines.
• Problem Solving: Can identify simple problems and implement basic solutions. Can follow established problem-solving procedures.
• Legal Skills: Can effectively draft simple concepts and perform legal research tasks when requested. Able to perform contractual interpretation tasks and advise the business accordingly.
• Organisational Skills: Can manage personal tasks and prioritize work. Can work to timelines and deadlines reliably.
  
• Personal Development: Can identify areas for personal skill development. Can effectively participate in training and development activities.
